Taking a leap of faith

God has put a nudging in my heart that I need to trust him more. I was at a point in my career that either I move on to a different job outside of Crusade or take a risk at crusade. I have learned that at crusade when you are able to raise your own support you can do more of a job that you enjoy. I am not going to raise my full living allowance but I am going to take a step out in faith to supplement my wage. This past week has been a long journey, As I took training in how to find Ministry partners I have so many questions running through my head, like "Is this really what God wants me to do?" to "What are you doing! you're a shy girl remember?"

I do do best when I am out of my comfort zone, I learn to trust God more and I realize what I am capable of. Pray for me as I take this step out in faith.

I'm not sorry and I am sticking too it!

After encouragement, Stefanie and Kelly think that I should share my reward challenge that I took part of on Tuesday. On Monday Stefanie challenged me to not saying "Sorry"unnecessarily for a whole day and I would receive 2 homemade cookies. I am happy to tell you that I succeed. Those two cookies were well worth the hardships. I don't love cookies all that much, just think if you offered me something that I really love. I might be able to go for a whole 2 days.

Summer is coming!!!!

I had such a great weekend. I went to my parents and did nothing!!! I sat in the sun, in my parents beautiful backyard and read my book. Although I have some funny tan lines because I am not use to dressing for summer yet. I guess I just have to spend some lazy days at the lake to fix my tan lines.

I am so excited for summer. I miss the smell of honeysuckle at sunset, I miss sitting at a table with yummy food and sharing it with my favorite family and friends and doing all this under a canopy of grape vines. I miss the sound of Billie Hoilday flooting through the summer air while enjoying the warmth of a chimneya. Yes, I am a romantic at heart but these are the memories that make life good.

I know! Its been a long time

Well I don't have much to talk about! (at least that I can broadcast). Ohh I just thought of something. I was only expecting $68 back for income tax but I got a cheque for$2700. That was an awesome surprise. I guess I didn't claim my interest on my student loan. They did that to me last year too. I only expected $300 and I got a cheque for $2500. They can continue to surpise like that if they want to. Oh well, I have to go. I am off to kick boxing.

Dancing in my living room

There is a lot to be said to having a place completely to yourself. My roomate left for two weeks for her spring break and that means I have the space to myself. I feel so completely free to dance in my living room and not feel like someone is watching(not that I do that.) Also, I did my laundry-even the clothes that were clean. Its so refreshing to know that you don't have to share the washing machine with someone else. I could have a wild and crazy party if I wanted too-Hey thats a great idea.
I think that I crave being alone. From the days of coming home by myself as a child, I just need some space from people. Its really weird because I am pretty social person and I need friends and a lot of people around me but I need a place to retreat to sometimes.

2 years

Well I have reached a milestone in my so called professional life, I have lasted 2 years at Campus Crusade for Christ, as of Feb. 17. Many people will say "2 years that not very long" but its long for me. Just realize that I graduated from University 3 years ago (I can't remember the exact date). So most of my professional career is now. Today people my age go from job to job, staying at a job is not common with people my age. So some people will look at this and say, 2 years so what! but for me this a big thing.

Curly hair

Yesterday, I was too tired to blow my hair dry and straighten it like I always do. So I let my hair go natural, curls and all. Everyone commented on it. I always find it strange when that happens. Are people saying that they don't like my hair straight? Also, its not like I haven't worn my hair curly before and so I don't understand why people are so surprised that I have curly hair. They always say "Wow, I didn't know you have curly hair" but they do know because they said it last time!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised either. I guess I have to mix up the curly and straight hair days so people won't be so surprised.

New favorite word

We had this thing at work called Word of the week, where a person would pick a word that nobody knew and we all had to try to use it as much as possible. I was the queen. Unfortunately, we had to take down the white board so Word of the week died. For the beginning of the year my friend Claire got a desk calendar that was Word of the day!!!! I was so excited ( I know I am a little weird but I love words)

Well, on Feb 7, the word of the day was Abecedarian- of or relating to the alphabet. b) aplphabetically arranged 2)rudimentary. I love this word and I have decided that it has become my new favorite word. Mostly because I can say it and I love the way it sounds.

Is it funny that someone gets so attached to a word?

Space

Lately, I have been really eager to have some space to myself. I get so excited when I have the place to myself. It is really funny I also thought that I was someone who needs people around me. I have always thought that I am a pretty outgoing person and social but I just been craving aloneness. When my lease is up at my place I think that I will try to find a place on my own. If I can afford it. Its not because I am having problems with my bossy roomate but I think that I have just decided to grow up.

It's been a long time

I know that its been a long time since I have written. I don't have a computer at home and sometimes I just want to go home after work. Other times I just have nothing to say. I went for Thai food today and my tummy is sooooooo happy! I love thai food. It has to be my #1 favorite food, second is hot wings and third is spaghetti.

This weekend I volunteered for Campus Crusade's booth at MissionsFest. It's an annual event held at the Vancouver Convention Center. So, I felt like such a grown up taking the Skytrain into Vancouver by myself. I usually get all nervous but I wasn't at all. I met my friend after I did my duty at the booth and we went for lunch at the Vancouver Art Gallery's cafe. Its was good food but the fun part is we then went to coffee shop that does Latte Art. They pour the foam in such a way that it makes a picture, my non-fat mocha had a beautiful autum leave on top of it. It was really hard drinking it.

I love it downtown, but I really don't think I would like to live there unless I had a lot of friends there as well. So I guess I would still with Langley. I think that Langley is growing so much that it could be my own downtown.

The Worm hit and then the wave came

After surviving the worm, we were thrusted into the Tidal wave. What I mean about that is that we barely survived the worm and enjoyed a nice break to celebrate Jesus's birth when we came backwhen we had to deal with the sunami.

What is with January and big projects. Last year it was The Passion of the Christ and TheLife.com and now this year we had a channel (less time consuming than a whole website).

Speaking of Tsunami, it's such a funny word. Just for the record the silent "t" is not from the German language but from Japanese. Right Claire? Don't ask.

God is so Good and I am so bored!

God did prevail and the tech boys were able to get the sites up and the devotionals running again!!!! What a great team we have! But that means there is no one in the office today except Mandy and I. I have no work to do, Karen is on holidays so Karen is not around. I am so bored and its only 8:12! I think that its time to sing the song "I am slowly going crazy, crazy I am going." Oh well this gives me the time to catch up on my blogging.

Making a difference

Tuesday evening our web servers were compromised by a hacker, causing all of our servers and sites to be affected. Our staff have been working through the night to restore the systems. I have been thinking, God is using our sites to bring the Knowledge of Christ to the nation and the enemy is not happy. Just think Satan is so unhappy that he had to go to such great lengths to take us down. But God prevails and we know we have won this battle already. God knew this was going to happen and maybe its all in his plan. Please pray for us and that Satan will not have power over this situation. Please pray for the guy who created the worm. This person really needs pray because he obviously has nothing better to do than corrupt someone's hard work. God will triumph!

Another year older

Well, in 3 days I am going to be 27 years old. Yahhh, I am going to be 30 in 3 years. I can't be that close.

When I watch these reality shows and there are these really mature looking people my age and with this really mature lives, I wonder what has happened to me.

Oh well, I have learned so much in this year. I heard this song from Nina Simone that I really love, its called "Feeling Good". There is a line that I love, it says:

"It's a new day, it's a new dawn"

This sums up this past year, it has been a year of new transitions. I guess getting older has its perks.

Dancing Girl

After long planning and thinking, my friends and I had our annual "Girls night out" which was post-poned for 2 years on account that my good friend, was pregnant with twins. We rented a limo and headed out to Roosters. Roosters is a country and western bar. I am not a fan of country music but I know that they play other music. Well,it was such an awesome evening! it was great, I danced all night and to music that I didn't even know! It was a night that my friends and I are going to talk about for a very long time.

Sometimes a girl just has to dance. Because well you know, Girls just want to have fun!

See this is my beautiful Golden Retriever! Posted by Hello

My Ode to Fall

I love Fall. I love everything about Fall. I love how the trees change color and the air is crisp but sunny. My favorite thing to do on an Autman Saturday is to put on my warm sweater with my favorite toque and take my most wonderful dog, Molson Golden (he is a golden retriever)and walk throught the leaves. And of course the best part is ending up at my favorite coffee spot, Starbucks, to have a pumpkin spice latte. Ahhh life is good! I thank God for seasons, especially Fall.

Death to pickles the fat hobbit

As I was entering my first blog entery, Rob came to offer me a cookie(thanks Patricia it was yummy) and he noticed that I was blogging. I told him my name and he had no clue. I guess Americans don't know a lot about LM Montgomery. He suggested I should call it Pickles the fat hobbit. He found out at our "Canadian" thanksgiving that my nick name use to be pickles and well I made a comment after dinner that I was a "fat hobbit". I'm sorry Rob it would have been funny but I got to go with who I really am. A girl who loves Anne of Green Gables.
