So busy
So busy packing, moving, 21/2 days. So excited....... No more crazy, screwball roommate who likes to throw phones at me. Freedom, Freedom, Freedom. I own 3 sinks, two toilets, 1 oven. Its all mine..........Happy happy Joy Joy.
I am just a westcoast girl who has a dream of being a beach girl.

Yes, signs that summer is almost over are popping up everywhere. Like the Zellers commericals for school supplies (they are quiet catchy, I have to admit, I hum along.) No longer can you get summer clothes at the stores (unless its the bargain booth-hey wait thats a good thing) No, it's fall colors and fall fashions. But with every passing season comes its good points. I will list my top ten favorite things for fall below:
1. Fall clothes- I love seeing all the new fashions
2. You don't have to feeling guilty for not being outside and enjoying the sunshine because we might not get more. Because soon we won't
3. The trees start changing color. I love it
4. It starts getting cooler and you get to wear warm sweaters
5. The smell in the air changes
6. Warm fall breezes
7. Hay rides
8. Corn mazes
9. Time to start listening to the soulful sounds of Ella during the day and not just at dusk
10. You get to wear scarfes and look all hip and trendy
Ok, well I have listed my top ten things that I love about fall. So I am tagging Kelly, Amanda (This is for saying that I am a bad blogger (smile)), and Patricia. Ha ha aha. I will let these guys tag the rest of you.

Ok, I have been addicted to the book series, Confessions of a Shopolic, I have read all three and I want to read the fourth one. Becky Bloomwood cracks me up, the trouble she gets into and the way she thinks about things makes laugh out loud. I really hope that they make a movie out of these books. I certainly will go see that!

Ahhh I the days of summer are here. The smell of honeysuckle floating through the air at dusk, eating a fantastic meal under the grape arbour, with wonderful people, the sounds of Billie Holiday's melodic tones in our ears. All the while having a fluffy cozy golden retriever at my feet to keep them warm. Life really can't get any better than that This is why I love summer!

Ok, I know I have been a bad blogger, but when you don't have a computer at home, its a lot harder to update it. If I do that means I have to stay later at work. Who wants to do that with the amazing weather we have been having.
Also I have been very busy with some important news. I am officially an homeowner of a beautiful Condo! It's in Langley, same street as HQ (64th) and its all mine! It is a two bedroom and I will be getting a roommate (no phone throwers though). My parents are helping me a lot, especially with the downpayment which they are supplying. You guys can check it out on MLS. ca.
I have also been working hard with support raising and its going really well, but I am running out of people. So if any of you reading this would like to talk to me about joining my support team just email me at leahj@crusade.org and I would love to talk to you. Also, if anyone can refer me to anyone who would possible be interested let me know, I would greatly appreciate it.
Just want to let you know that I probably won't be so good in updating my blog, with the upcoming move and stuff but I will try my hardest for you, my blogging community.

Well, I knew that one day we would have to face the fact that Molson wouldn't live forever. That day has come. This weekend we found out that Molson has aggressive Melonma and that it's in his lymp nodes. We have up to an year with him. If we keep him really healthy we can have him longer. Some people may say that he is only a dog but he is more than that, he is part of the family. He is a blessing, he brings joy and happiness whenever I see him and I can't imagine life without him. Please pray that Molson would be healthy for a long time and when the time comes he wouldn't be in pain and that we would have the wisdom to let go.

God has put a nudging in my heart that I need to trust him more. I was at a point in my career that either I move on to a different job outside of Crusade or take a risk at crusade. I have learned that at crusade when you are able to raise your own support you can do more of a job that you enjoy. I am not going to raise my full living allowance but I am going to take a step out in faith to supplement my wage. This past week has been a long journey, As I took training in how to find Ministry partners I have so many questions running through my head, like "Is this really what God wants me to do?" to "What are you doing! you're a shy girl remember?"
I do do best when I am out of my comfort zone, I learn to trust God more and I realize what I am capable of. Pray for me as I take this step out in faith.

After encouragement, Stefanie and Kelly think that I should share my reward challenge that I took part of on Tuesday. On Monday Stefanie challenged me to not saying "Sorry"unnecessarily for a whole day and I would receive 2 homemade cookies. I am happy to tell you that I succeed. Those two cookies were well worth the hardships. I don't love cookies all that much, just think if you offered me something that I really love. I might be able to go for a whole 2 days.

I had such a great weekend. I went to my parents and did nothing!!! I sat in the sun, in my parents beautiful backyard and read my book. Although I have some funny tan lines because I am not use to dressing for summer yet. I guess I just have to spend some lazy days at the lake to fix my tan lines.
I am so excited for summer. I miss the smell of honeysuckle at sunset, I miss sitting at a table with yummy food and sharing it with my favorite family and friends and doing all this under a canopy of grape vines. I miss the sound of Billie Hoilday flooting through the summer air while enjoying the warmth of a chimneya. Yes, I am a romantic at heart but these are the memories that make life good.

Well I don't have much to talk about! (at least that I can broadcast). Ohh I just thought of something. I was only expecting $68 back for income tax but I got a cheque for$2700. That was an awesome surprise. I guess I didn't claim my interest on my student loan. They did that to me last year too. I only expected $300 and I got a cheque for $2500. They can continue to surpise like that if they want to. Oh well, I have to go. I am off to kick boxing.

There is a lot to be said to having a place completely to yourself. My roomate left for two weeks for her spring break and that means I have the space to myself. I feel so completely free to dance in my living room and not feel like someone is watching(not that I do that.) Also, I did my laundry-even the clothes that were clean. Its so refreshing to know that you don't have to share the washing machine with someone else. I could have a wild and crazy party if I wanted too-Hey thats a great idea.
I think that I crave being alone. From the days of coming home by myself as a child, I just need some space from people. Its really weird because I am pretty social person and I need friends and a lot of people around me but I need a place to retreat to sometimes.

Well I have reached a milestone in my so called professional life, I have lasted 2 years at Campus Crusade for Christ, as of Feb. 17. Many people will say "2 years that not very long" but its long for me. Just realize that I graduated from University 3 years ago (I can't remember the exact date). So most of my professional career is now. Today people my age go from job to job, staying at a job is not common with people my age. So some people will look at this and say, 2 years so what! but for me this a big thing.

Yesterday, I was too tired to blow my hair dry and straighten it like I always do. So I let my hair go natural, curls and all. Everyone commented on it. I always find it strange when that happens. Are people saying that they don't like my hair straight? Also, its not like I haven't worn my hair curly before and so I don't understand why people are so surprised that I have curly hair. They always say "Wow, I didn't know you have curly hair" but they do know because they said it last time!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised either. I guess I have to mix up the curly and straight hair days so people won't be so surprised.

We had this thing at work called Word of the week, where a person would pick a word that nobody knew and we all had to try to use it as much as possible. I was the queen. Unfortunately, we had to take down the white board so Word of the week died. For the beginning of the year my friend Claire got a desk calendar that was Word of the day!!!! I was so excited ( I know I am a little weird but I love words)
Well, on Feb 7, the word of the day was Abecedarian- of or relating to the alphabet. b) aplphabetically arranged 2)rudimentary. I love this word and I have decided that it has become my new favorite word. Mostly because I can say it and I love the way it sounds.
Is it funny that someone gets so attached to a word?

Lately, I have been really eager to have some space to myself. I get so excited when I have the place to myself. It is really funny I also thought that I was someone who needs people around me. I have always thought that I am a pretty outgoing person and social but I just been craving aloneness. When my lease is up at my place I think that I will try to find a place on my own. If I can afford it. Its not because I am having problems with my bossy roomate but I think that I have just decided to grow up.

I know that its been a long time since I have written. I don't have a computer at home and sometimes I just want to go home after work. Other times I just have nothing to say. I went for Thai food today and my tummy is sooooooo happy! I love thai food. It has to be my #1 favorite food, second is hot wings and third is spaghetti.
This weekend I volunteered for Campus Crusade's booth at MissionsFest. It's an annual event held at the Vancouver Convention Center. So, I felt like such a grown up taking the Skytrain into Vancouver by myself. I usually get all nervous but I wasn't at all. I met my friend after I did my duty at the booth and we went for lunch at the Vancouver Art Gallery's cafe. Its was good food but the fun part is we then went to coffee shop that does Latte Art. They pour the foam in such a way that it makes a picture, my non-fat mocha had a beautiful autum leave on top of it. It was really hard drinking it.
I love it downtown, but I really don't think I would like to live there unless I had a lot of friends there as well. So I guess I would still with Langley. I think that Langley is growing so much that it could be my own downtown.
