Comments for other bloggers

My friend Mandy has a great conversation going on her blog. There has been some discussion about how single people should not worry about getting married and that you have to be comfortable in your own skin. I made some comments and I might have been harsh in my first comment and for that I ask for forgiveness from my fellow bloggers. What I said has some truth in it, as single women we hear married women say the same thing. I am so tired of hearing the same advice. Can someone tell me how not to care about the future and finding Mr. Right? Until I hear some advice that is useful and can be done in a pratical way then I will listen. But to say live your life to the fullest is not pratical advice, how do you know we aren't? Is it wrong to hope and desire for the future?

How can we live life to the fullest when married people feel sorry for us because we aren't married yet. All I am saying is that if you are going to give us advice then give us pratical advice that has relevance to our lives. Just maybe remember back to what it felt like to go to party filled with couples and your the only single one there. Now thats courage! I know that God has someone special for everyone if he puts that desire in your heart and sometimes God waits a long time to send that special person to you but instead of looking at married and singles as enemies maybe we can offer constructive practical advice and not pity.

For Mandy don't let what anom#1 get you down. You are the opposite of helpless, you have more courage than anyone I know.

Participatory Journalism

I was reading this one blog and there was this quote that really shows the power that blogs have over the editorial world. More reason why Write Click should have a blog. We may not influence the media to investigate a murder but we might influence someone to ask Jesus into their heart and isn't that what our jobs are all about. This may be a very simplified way of looking at things but I think its the bottom line. What do you think?

Blogging

Florence and I went to a blogging seminar last Wednesday because we have developed a Authors Group called Write Click and we are creating a blog for it. This is very exciting here at Truthmedia because we have been wanting a reason to jump on the blogging band wagon and now we have it.

Well I learned a lot from the blogging seminar. I learned that short and constant entries are best and that linking to other people increases their standing. (Thats why Orangejack always links to the stories instead of just telling people)

You can tell I learned a lot because I have linked to different people. I still have some questions, so I am sending it out to the blogging community, What is the difference between Bloglines and Technorati? Are they a completely different thing?

Stay tuned because we are currently working on The Write Click blog and I definately will be talking about it.

Housewarming

Well, I had my housewarming on Nov. 11. It was suppose to be a drop in but people came and never left. I want to thank everyone who came to my housewarming. I know why they call it a housewarming because having friends and family to come and share in your excitement really makes a house a warm home to live in.

I had a fight with an Avacado and it won

I am such a loser. I was trying to get the pit out of the Avacado and the very sharp knife slipped and I sliced my thumb at the knuckle very deep, lots of blood all over the place. I had to get two stitches, 5 needles, and a thumb puppet named Ava (short for avacado, in memory.) I have to keep my thumb straight because the stitches are at the knuckle so I could tear them if I am not careful. You would be amazed at how much you actually use your thumb. God was really thinking when he made digits.

I found it!

Hee hee hee when I went to go publish my last post I realized that I had to republished my lost one so, now I look like I have been really good at blogging. At least I didn't lose my marbles.

Wow, do you believe its Thanksgiving again. I remember last year, Rob and Patricia joined my family for dinner . That was the day that "Pickles the fat hobbit" came to life. Hey Rob and Patricia are you going to being celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving?

I lost a post!

Ok I went in to blogger the other day because I got spammed, so my good friend Claire, showed me how to put the security on it so my comments won't get spammed. After that my last post disappeared. Whats up with that? My gosh, I was being good now it looks like I haven't blogged for a month and half.

Well, I am all moved into my new place and I love it! and I found a great roommate. She is a Trinity Western Student, 22 years old .Super sweet girl, the type I know for sure will never become violent on me. She is from Edmonton which is really funny because I went to Edmonton to go to university. I think Edmonton is the key for me because I had the best roommate ever in Edmonton, her name is Adrienne and she still is a close friend of mine now. So I am praying that I will have as much fun with Christy as I did with Adrienne. She moves in Nov. 1. So I have a month to enjoy my space by myself.

I believe I have been tagged by Kelly so here goes it:

He is a blessing, he brings joy and happiness whenever I see him and I can't imagine life without him.

Instructions are as follows:
1. Go into your archive.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag five other people to do the same.

(This is poignant because in this post it talks about Molson, my dog that has cancer because just recently I have been worried about him. I just was reminded that Molson won't always be around)

Ok, I am tagging Patricia, Rob, Mandy, Healther (I know you read my blog) and Doris

Summer is almost over

Yes, signs that summer is almost over are popping up everywhere. Like the Zellers commericals for school supplies (they are quiet catchy, I have to admit, I hum along.) No longer can you get summer clothes at the stores (unless its the bargain booth-hey wait thats a good thing) No, it's fall colors and fall fashions. But with every passing season comes its good points. I will list my top ten favorite things for fall below:

1. Fall clothes- I love seeing all the new fashions
2. You don't have to feeling guilty for not being outside and enjoying the sunshine because we might not get more. Because soon we won't
3. The trees start changing color. I love it
4. It starts getting cooler and you get to wear warm sweaters
5. The smell in the air changes
6. Warm fall breezes
7. Hay rides
8. Corn mazes
9. Time to start listening to the soulful sounds of Ella during the day and not just at dusk
10. You get to wear scarfes and look all hip and trendy

Ok, well I have listed my top ten things that I love about fall. So I am tagging Kelly, Amanda (This is for saying that I am a bad blogger (smile)), and Patricia. Ha ha aha. I will let these guys tag the rest of you.

Confessions of a Shopolic

Ok, I have been addicted to the book series, Confessions of a Shopolic, I have read all three and I want to read the fourth one. Becky Bloomwood cracks me up, the trouble she gets into and the way she thinks about things makes laugh out loud. I really hope that they make a movie out of these books. I certainly will go see that!

Help

I can't add pictures. Please advise.

The days of Summer

Ahhh I the days of summer are here. The smell of honeysuckle floating through the air at dusk, eating a fantastic meal under the grape arbour, with wonderful people, the sounds of Billie Holiday's melodic tones in our ears. All the while having a fluffy cozy golden retriever at my feet to keep them warm. Life really can't get any better than that This is why I love summer!

I have been labeled a "bad blogger"

Ok, I know I have been a bad blogger, but when you don't have a computer at home, its a lot harder to update it. If I do that means I have to stay later at work. Who wants to do that with the amazing weather we have been having.

Also I have been very busy with some important news. I am officially an homeowner of a beautiful Condo! It's in Langley, same street as HQ (64th) and its all mine! It is a two bedroom and I will be getting a roommate (no phone throwers though). My parents are helping me a lot, especially with the downpayment which they are supplying. You guys can check it out on MLS. ca.

I have also been working hard with support raising and its going really well, but I am running out of people. So if any of you reading this would like to talk to me about joining my support team just email me at leahj@crusade.org and I would love to talk to you. Also, if anyone can refer me to anyone who would possible be interested let me know, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just want to let you know that I probably won't be so good in updating my blog, with the upcoming move and stuff but I will try my hardest for you, my blogging community.

Bad News

Well, I knew that one day we would have to face the fact that Molson wouldn't live forever. That day has come. This weekend we found out that Molson has aggressive Melonma and that it's in his lymp nodes. We have up to an year with him. If we keep him really healthy we can have him longer. Some people may say that he is only a dog but he is more than that, he is part of the family. He is a blessing, he brings joy and happiness whenever I see him and I can't imagine life without him. Please pray that Molson would be healthy for a long time and when the time comes he wouldn't be in pain and that we would have the wisdom to let go.

Taking a leap of faith

God has put a nudging in my heart that I need to trust him more. I was at a point in my career that either I move on to a different job outside of Crusade or take a risk at crusade. I have learned that at crusade when you are able to raise your own support you can do more of a job that you enjoy. I am not going to raise my full living allowance but I am going to take a step out in faith to supplement my wage. This past week has been a long journey, As I took training in how to find Ministry partners I have so many questions running through my head, like "Is this really what God wants me to do?" to "What are you doing! you're a shy girl remember?"

I do do best when I am out of my comfort zone, I learn to trust God more and I realize what I am capable of. Pray for me as I take this step out in faith.

I'm not sorry and I am sticking too it!

After encouragement, Stefanie and Kelly think that I should share my reward challenge that I took part of on Tuesday. On Monday Stefanie challenged me to not saying "Sorry"unnecessarily for a whole day and I would receive 2 homemade cookies. I am happy to tell you that I succeed. Those two cookies were well worth the hardships. I don't love cookies all that much, just think if you offered me something that I really love. I might be able to go for a whole 2 days.

Summer is coming!!!!

I had such a great weekend. I went to my parents and did nothing!!! I sat in the sun, in my parents beautiful backyard and read my book. Although I have some funny tan lines because I am not use to dressing for summer yet. I guess I just have to spend some lazy days at the lake to fix my tan lines.

I am so excited for summer. I miss the smell of honeysuckle at sunset, I miss sitting at a table with yummy food and sharing it with my favorite family and friends and doing all this under a canopy of grape vines. I miss the sound of Billie Hoilday flooting through the summer air while enjoying the warmth of a chimneya. Yes, I am a romantic at heart but these are the memories that make life good.

I know! Its been a long time

Well I don't have much to talk about! (at least that I can broadcast). Ohh I just thought of something. I was only expecting $68 back for income tax but I got a cheque for$2700. That was an awesome surprise. I guess I didn't claim my interest on my student loan. They did that to me last year too. I only expected $300 and I got a cheque for $2500. They can continue to surpise like that if they want to. Oh well, I have to go. I am off to kick boxing.
